Question:

Which newer tire will fit my motorcycle. I have a 1981 Suzuki GS250T. Rear tire 3.5x17 in manual (Old way)

So I just bought a 1981 Suzuki GS250T. I‘m looking for a near-OEM size replacement tire for the rear. The recommended size is 3.5x17. Would I be safe to assume that this would convert to about a 90mm x 80% width-height ratio 17? So a 90/80-17 H rated tire would fit? This seems really small(thin) but perhaps that is correct. Does anyone have any wisdom on the matter? A webpage online said they used a 110/90-17 I think for a replacement, but that seems wide, (20mm more than stock). Thanks for any help!

Answer:

Just go to a dealer and ask, they have the correct answer. Or you could just call them on the phone, how hard is that?
The closest current replacement would be a 90/80 - 17 but because there are different aspect ratios now that were not available in 1981, the 110/90 - 17 should also fit.
