Do you know that if a burglar injures himself in your house because you had slippery floor he can sue you? And he might actually win because you should have known that slippery floor is dangerous. Same is with your dogs. If you knew that somebody could enter because the gate was not locked, you are responsible. Do you have a way for people to ring the bell WITHOUT entering the yard? No? How do you expect somebody knock on the door or ring the bell without entering the yard?

Did you have a sign up saying beware dogs, or no trespassing? because if you did then she doesn't have a case because she was warned of the dogs and told not to enter the premises, if you didn't then she may have a case, seeing that she wouldn't have know about the dogs or the fact that she wasn't allowed through your gate.
