I Listen to a lot of electronic music(dubstep, house, trance, etc). Tends to have massive amounts of hard hitting and long bass lines. I had 4 kicker cvr 15 1000w subs on 2 rockford fosgate P800.2 amps. I had a lot of amp shutoffs due to overheating after prolonged use. And I havent done the big 3 yet. Want to upgrade to 4 kicker cvx 2ohm 15 subs and a new fosgate amp, or 4 punch 15‘s with a fosgate amp. Which would perform better at high volumes with the massive bass assault from a sick dubstep track? And I need advice on matching all 4 subs on one amp.The help would b much appreciated.
If you are getting one amp to power all of those speakers, I would get the 2 15s. Unless the amp's rms exceeds the the 2 speaker's rms when the impedance (ohms) is met, 2 subs will be fine. If you want all 4 you shoud think of getting another amp because the amp is only going to push what it's rated to push, no matter how many subs you have. If you are planning on upgrading in the future than get the 4 subs. As far as safe wiring you should check out sonic electronix wiring diagrams, they will help you figure out the safest wiring for your subs and get you the most out of your amp.
