Yes, a programmable thermostat is a very good idea to reduce costsIf the system took 30 minutes or more to re-heat the home (area) then it's not such a good ideaIf you can reduce the energy used while you're asleep or not home, and still be comfortable while you're home awake, it's great!
I'm certainly no expert in the field, but I strongly recommend against whey powders that contain more than 5-10 mg of cholesterolIn powdered foods, such as protein powder, egg powder, and milk powder, cholesterol tends to become oxidized on the shelf, where it carries a higher risk of causing atherosclerosis-related damage and problems with your cells' membrane fluidity and receptorsAlso avoid protein powders that use artificial sweetenersEven plain sucrose or glucose might be a better option if you really need to flavor your powderSome whey powders are available on the market that are filtered or processed to remove cholesterol or other components of whey that aren't proteinRight now I'm using a Protein Factory product that is polymer filtered and contains ~5 mg of cholesterolThese powders are best mixed with water and taken as soon as possible following a workoutA word of warning: NEVER use these shakes to _replace_ full meals of whole foodsLean meats and legumes are the best sources of protein for anything that ISN'T your post-workout _supplement_There is no substitute for good nutrition.
Because the floor heat requires lower temps to heat it would be slightly more effif floors are properly insulated. But because more piping is used to get the proper btu output its nearly a wash.Definitely more comfortable.Best way to save is to install a condensing boiler.Great effrunning at low temps.
