Your parents were given plenty of warning that the battery was dyingall smoke alarms that I have had begin to chirp when the battery gets low. I want to know what kind of space or baseboard heater they have that reaches 412 degrees F ! That is one dangerous heater to use indoors. Ceramic heaters have safety switches on them that shut them down when the case reaches a dangerous level or if they tip over. Buy them not only a new battery, but a new heater! It sounds as if the oil filled radiator type might be more their style. And, smoke alarms are so cheap, you can install one in every roomI see them regularly at less than 20.00, not much money to pay considering what fire can cost. While you are at it, you might want to consider installing a carbon monoxide detector also. Phil
Hey Lelly : ) Long time no see. Hmmm one of my contacts lives around there I think. I can always ask. Otherwise as far as jumping on it, can still be done outside on the cement or something like concrete unless it's one of those really solid cans? - maybe a vice would work? Otherwise maybe a regular hammer might work or a sledgehammer if necessary even if you have to use it outside to avoid sounds carrying downstairs. Anyway I can ask this contact who I think lives in or around Portland. Oh I forgot to mention I had a question about a Punk band Nik Fiend from Alien Sex Fiend was in before he started Alien Sex Fiend and some Noise bands too by the way and one of em has a tribal sound.
