ohh the joys of kitten hoodwhen you can play with them all day and they still trash your house at nightmy cat was exactly the same by the sounds of thingsmy advise would be to get lots of toys, like you saidthat way he can entertain him self when your not aroundsome good quality soft toys were good with my catsomething he could sink his teeth and claws into (instead of my hand) and a few balls he can bat around, if you have enough space so he isn't going to knock things down while playingand the toys on a string and pole may be good to help you play with him free of pain (but my cat just ended up going for the hand any way)also if you get him anything with bells, my tip would be to put it away at night, as sure as fate, that's the one he will play with at 3 in the morningyour not a bad owner at all, hes just a little bundle of energy at this age, just like we all where as childrenand needs lots to keep him occupied but the good news is he will calm down as time goes on, but my cat still at age 5 takes off on a mad dash round the house for no reason from time to time, but he hasn't knock things down in years, so im happy.
Get him a playmate, our two male cats spend their time wrestling and clobbering each other, and less time destroying thingsGive him things to tear up like boxes and paper bags, use the water bottle to train him not to mess with certain thingsGet a fishing pole style toy and a laser pointer and run him all around at least once a day.
