Looking for a cold air intake for the 2.5i 4dr base model. (not wrx) cant seem to find one. would an intake for the wrx work for my car even though i dont have turbo?
As far as i know, you can use the SPT Air Intake, since the turbo deals mostly with the exhaust. correct me if im wrong though.
The car already has a cold air intake, from the factory. It leads away from the engine, towards the bumper, to get colder air. Also, a cold air intake on a turbo does nothing. The idea is cold air is more compressed. A turbo compresses air to a set psi, so it's utterly pointless.
thats funny, i have a sti, we put it on a dyno with the factory intake then swapped it for a AEM cold air intake and picked up 22 hp and 29 ft lbs in torque. its a turbo. them other guys dont have a clue. if you cant find one anywhere go to auto zone and build one. also to vipassan, cold air is more dense not compressed, it doesnt get compressed untill the turbo. the real idea is you get more air flow through the tube and being cooler theres more hp. retard.
