I had a Microsoft geek poke around my yahoo; running on windows 8; I am on a nextbook tablet; seems the yim webcam broadcast is not working; video calls work; it works with Skype but I can not get a webcam up when I want to chat with a friend. this is clearly an issue that the camera drivers are not interfacing with the yim webcam broadcast; I have deleted yim; rebooted; downloaded yim and testedsame results; what is to be done?
I don't think you can, because the icons in Control Panel are a result of enumerating .cpl files, and there is no .cpl file specifically for Device Manager. (.cpl files are basically .dll's with particular requirements on entry points and icons) However if you make a shortcut for devmgmt.msc you can put that shortcut on your desktop or anywhere else. Just fyi, computer management, aka manage from right-clicking My Computer, is compmgmt.msc. You can get to device manager from there, too. Disk manager is diskmgmt.msc. You can find other .msc's in windowssystem32. Alternately, you can use Windows-R and type devmgmt.msc into the Run prompt.. The Run prompt remembers the last few things you start that way and Device Manager is never out of the list on my machines. :)
