Question:

Why are fire hydrants different colors?

The most common seems to be yellow in color, but I've also seen green, white and blue fire hydrants here in California. Is there any significance to the colors on a fire hydrant?

Answer:

Hiring them in the first place was wrong if they didn't meet the job requirements. If speaking English is necessary to perform your job, and you don't speak English, you probably shouldn't get hired. No that is not discrimination. Discrimination is based on things that you can't change, like, color, sex, etc.
As I recall part of becoming a USA citizen means passing a test in ENGLISH and being able to read/write/speak ENGLISH. If your job requires you to speak ENGLISH and you don't, you are not qualified for that job and the company has a right to fire you for not being qualified. But they'll probably settle out because this country is full of PC weenies.
The ACLU is a money grubbing group of haters. They look for ways to abuse the system. This is why political correctness is so bad for our country. It gives powers to those that shouldn't have it and do not how to use it. They constantly throw around the sex, race, religion, card to intimidate people. They are the real reason racism is still alive. It will always be alive as long as groups like the ACLU can get a buck off of it. The finger pointing accusations are what keeps them in business.
Go to Menards or Home depot and get a fitting called a Shark-Bite. The pipe size should be 3/4 in. So you would get either a shark-bite coupling or a 90 degree elbow
It is categorically absurd to think that it makes any sense at all for an American business to be successful with employees who can't understand what they're being instructed to do, what they're being asked by customers - how could they be trained? How could they be helpful and informed? How could they communicate concerns or grievances? How could they process transactions? How could they understand basic hiring paperwork? And as for safety - how could they maintain a safe working environment? How could they operate machinery without being able to read the hazard warnings or be taught safe operating procedures? How could they keep others safe if they can't communicate impending danger? The list goes on and on and on. So, being able to communicate with fellow employees and customers can no longer be a job requirement? Great precedent. Maybe they can apply it to an air traffic controller. Why should he/she have to learn English?
