Question:

Why are my pipes still leaking?

I installed a new water heater, keeping the connections as the same type as before. There is no soldering involved, purely threaded fittings. Originally I used pipe dope, and as instructed, I liberally applied the pipe dope to the male threads. When the water is running, it still leaked. The connections are tight. I went ahead and used teflon tape instead and it's still leaking. Is there a secret to this that I haven't figured out? The leaks shouldn't be happening at all. Frustrated.

Answer:

Well being completely factual, horses don't NEED shoes. But if you have a horse that is often doing demanding physical activities, it's a wise choice. My trainers philosophy is, if the horse is jumping more than 2'6 on a regular basis, they need shoes. Because even jumping that small puts a lot of stress on their legs. A lot. But my first pony competed at 2'6 and she never had a shoe on, ever. It really just depends on the horse and the activity they are taking place in. Talk to a farrier if you're wondering about your horse needing shoes, but it's always a wise idea to be safe rather than sorry.
This might reveal a bit more information: Basically, certain compounds will, above a certain temperature, change their chemical state slightly, causing a colour change. Some are reversible, others irreversible, depending on what you want to measure.
