You sleep clothed under blankets and in cloth sleeping bags but If they are made of polyester, you have to strip fully naked before getting inat least this is true from several sources. Why is it? The polyester ones are so soft and silk-like to the touch, that I often wonder if it‘s just not a sexual kink people have. Is this true?

You do not need to sleep naked in any sleeping bag. Go to bed in a dry baselayer. You need to stay dry. That is the important criterion.
Sleeping naked in a sleeping bag keeps you warmer, also all of the temperature ratings for sleeping bags are made assuming nude sleepers.
