That sounds like a dangerous combination. I had a friend whose bed started on fire while he was away just from the heat of a computer charger.
First of all,it is your right to request to see/view the tape and get them to physically show you. What i want to know, is why the girl didn't get written up. Second, you would have to do some major maneuvering to pull the fire alarm with a hot dog cover. Well,it depends on the shape of the top,as well. I hope this helps somehow, :)
