Progressive, but really depends on the band. Symphonic. Power. Heavy Metal. Thrash, Industrial and Sludge use what I call aggressive/harsh vocals - clean but shouting a lot. MDM and Metalcore often use a mix of clean and screams. Nu Metal use clean, aggressive, screams, growls and rapping. Post-Grunge and Alternative Metal. Doom Metal, again depends on the band.
