When changing smoke alarm batteries, why do they all go off while changing?
Call Animal Control and report a dog roaming at large.
My mother had the same issue growing up, and she had a very mean grandmother who would punish her in unmentionable, horrible ways for doing it. I would suggest having him talk to someone who has been there, and knows what he is going through. When he sees that he is not the only one with this problem, then he may feel more comfortable.
Assuming the kinetic energy is converted into potential energy of the shock asorbers and there are four shocks whose potential energy pe 1/2 kdX^2; where k is the coefficient and dX is the compression as the tires roll over the bump, then the cars kinetic energy KE is reduced by 4pe as the car goes over the bump. You need to know the amount of compress dX and the k coefficient for each shock absorber to find pe. Finding the car's KE 1/2 mV^2; where m is the car's mass W/g and V 40 mph 176/3 58.7 fps. g 32.2 ft/sec^2 and W is the weight of the car in pounds. The physics is this. The kinetic energy is in part converted into the potential energy of each shock absorber when the car rolls over the bump. But that energy is recoverted to KE when the shocks decompress as the car passes on by.
report it to the cops local authorites, for NOT being kept under proper control, always outside in the streets without a leash unsupervised. IT is running at folk aggesivley barking aggressively.
First get a cell phone video documenting what you see. Report it first to the landlord and tell him you have pictures to prove it. That should take care of it, and if not call the local police non emergency number and ask what to do. In some areas the police take care of this, in others it's Animal Control. In the meantime, a quality pepper spray will make the dog think twice about coming up to you like that. If you have any local Army-Navy or sporting goods stores that deal with hunters those are the best places to get good ones. Many of the cheap ones aren't strong enough. Practice first, aim for the face and eyes of the dog, and use it generously. You can also ask your mail carrier if you see him where he buys his. Most delivery people carry them.
