Question:

why do they put cement on your back teeth when putting braces?

it is so uncomfortable to chew!

Answer:

it's so stupid it will be hard for you when you chew. you cannot even touch your teeth.IT WILL PAIN SO BAD . SO WHAT DO I SAY IS PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE.
they put it on the fronts of your teeth to glue your brackets on, if they have put it on the 'inside' of your teeth, the flat bit underneath, they shouldt have
They have to put braces on your back teeth, like to anchor them i guess you could say, unless you just have the fronts.
I had that too.. I had it for a little over a year (and I had braces for 2 1/2 years). They took it out when they added another bracket to the very last teeth. That cement is there to keep your top teeth from biting on the bottom brackets. You'll get used to it.
When I got my braces, orthodontist put cement on the top of my first molars. It was probably the second worst thing about braces (worst being spacers). I couldn't touch my upper front teeth with my lower front teeth, and it felt so strange and stupid. But after some time the cement just fell off. I have no idea what is it for, even tho I had it. :)
