Question:

Why do you preform good deeds?

Why do you preform good deeds? Is it because your religion tells you to be good or because you actually want to do good. Also who has better morals, the person that is good because they want to be or the person who is good because they have to be.

Answer:

I think that it is better when someone that is not religious does good deeds simply because that is what they want to do, not to score points with the good lord. The only difference between morals would be with how you obtained them and why you use them.
I'm Catholic but I don't think it has to do with religion, my religion does teach that doing good deeds is the way to go but even then not everyone in my religion actually does them. So I think it's more of a personal choice and it makes you and others feel good. :) Oh and you spelled perform as preform.
My good deeds are performed by me because it is part of who i am. Im sure religion plays a part in it, but without a conscience effort. My better morals has been a life of learning growing. I never thought of having to be moral person, it just came with the package, its who I am. I am sure my parents, friends my faith make up the person i am today in which i am grateful.
I do good deeds because I believe that's one of the reasons we're here. I volunteer my time and give to 3 charities every month. It helps others.....and it makes me feel good. I'm an Atheist.....for me it has nothing to do with Religion. **no body has to be good.....it's always a choice.
well for me personally, i am not obligated to do good deeds. I spread joy i have to others less fortunate because i believe it's what's right. My religion (Christianity) suggests that i do good deeds, but does not require it. I do it simply because i have enough to offer others with my time and effort.
