there is so much heat escaping it causes the smoke detectors to go offf
Even if there weren't smoke detectors in your room, its not worth the risk to smoke in there. Even if you follow all the usual precautions like blowing the smoke out through a cardboard tube stuff with dryer sheets, opening the window, having a fan on, and putting a towel to block off the bottom of the door, the smell still gets out. There are ALWAYS chill places to smoke on campus or just off of campus, usually stuff near the dorms since you don't want to be doing it in the middle of a huge crowd. Theres probably some chill places off campus too, and you can always go for a little drive and listen to some awesome music while you toke up.
Any clothing that you can wear off duty, even if you choose not to, is not a write off. You cannot write off jeans, shoes, etc. If they require steel toed boots and safety gear like goggles, hard hats, etc. then sure. In order to write it off on a schedule A 1, it needs to be more than 2% of your adjusted gross income, and 2, you need to qualify to itemize. No itemize, no deduction.
