Question:

why does my hardwired smoke detector beep?

my smoke detector is hard wired but has just started chirping as if it had a low battery

Answer:

I have a Safe-n-Sound convertible car seat. My son is big so he never had a capsule but put him straight in to the car seat (rear facing to begin with). He was 4 1/2 months old when I turned him around to face the front as he could support his own head well by then. I think it is great. It comes with all kinds of padding for when they are little and have no neck strength and is very sturdy and meets all safety regulations. The company even has a seat exchange program if you are involved in a serious crash. I have it behind the passenger side so if we do have an accident, he has the added barrier of the front seat to stop him from flying out the window. This brand is popular where I live in Australia, not sure about where you live. I drive a Toyota Cressida which has bolt access points all along the back dash.

the door alarm mentioned by the other guy is available for about $12 at The Container Store. It will only monitor if someone came into your place when you had the monitor set. It doesn't call the police or anything like that.
