Question:

why does my smoke detector seem to do the reverse action?

I have an unused room in house that is kept unheated now in the winter and the smoke detector is making a single beeping noise at intervals on nights when it is extremely cold. The only way to stop this noise is to turn on the heat in that room for a while. Anyone know why it could be doing this?

Answer:

The fittings are not the problem; silver soldering A/C lines is one of the skills which a HVAC technician is tested on and licensed to do, as it is more critical than water lines. If you have the license to silver solder, you know the answer to this question already. HVAC lines are OD.
Ringside has a large selection of fight gloves, from MMA, sparring, boxing, any martial arts type of gloves. They also come in many different weights. Usually in tough man contests the fighters wear 14 or 16 ounce gloves [most states that allowed sanctioned tough men contests require this], seldom 8 and 10 ounce gloves are worn, but this is for matches not sanctioned by the state. Everlast also makes a decent glove, check the padding on the knuckle area, remember to wrap your hands, this will protect your knuckles. I prefer Everlast head gear, with no sissy bar. Real men don't use sissy bar head gear. I wish we had a tough man contest near me, it would be fun.
Hairspray may clog your pores, since the natural oils in your face don't have the freedom to escape under that layer of hairspray. I would suggest switching to a different (organic?) hairspray
