the energy in a thunderstorm is comparable to that of an atomic bomb, but trying to harvest the energy of lightning from the ground is hopeless.the low energy involved in each lightning bolt render lightning power harvesting from ground based lightning rods as impractical. this is wat i read in pedia can sum one xplain me why is it so????

Stitched in foaling alarms suck. Where the magnets are sewn in provides a place for feces to gather and wad up. The mare can go into labor and the foal's front legs can be present but if they are high, they miss breaking the magnet connection and so the alarm fails to go off. We tried them one season and I gave up on them because they are ineffective and if the alarm does actually go off, the foal is just about out by the time you get there. In the case of a dystocia, you need to be there from the outset and be able to either assist or get a vet there ASAP and you'd still be at home sleeping unaware that your mare is having a life threatening crisis because the alarm hasn't gone off. I have never heard anything positive about the alarms fitted as belly bands either. I'd invest in CCTV if I was you. You can get them quite cheaply for monitoring babies and then you can view her without having to leave your bed every 2 hours.
