Question:

Why is my check engine light on?

I have a chevy blazer ls model, i was trying to replace a fuse in my car when i accidentally pulled out the fuse for the tranny. Now the check engine light is on. Why is it on? Can i reset it?

Answer:

Pull the fuse for the ECM/PCM for a few seconds, that is enough to reset the ECM/PCM if OBD2 (1996 and later). If this is OBD2, and the light is not flashing, it is not a serious problem. OBD2 systems take multiple restarts (up to 50) after a problem has been resolved, to turn the light off. Or, you can go to an auto parts store, and they should be able to turn the light off if OBD2.
