Question:

Why is my clothes dryer hot to the touch when its off?

No one in the house has used the clothes dryer in days, but yet the outside of the dryer it is extremely hot to the touch. The lint screen is clean. Any ideas? Thanks!!

Answer:

Infared red isn't light, its a type of electromagnetic radiation emmited by hot objects. We can 'see through smoke' as the detector can distinguish the hot and cold environments. Yes, almost all objects radiate energy in the form of heat.
We bought a package of that stuff you put under rugs so they don't slide around. It's kind of waffle-style (holes all through it, grid pattern kind of). I cut about a 6 inch square and put it under each leg, it doesn't slide around when we sit down now :)
