Changed my tires out and now it seems that this is happening. I don‘t really remembering them like this. I barely touch the control and it initiates the brakes. I swear I remember some give when I sqeezed until the brake would occur. There is brake fluid. Any ideas? Any solutions?
I'm with JB, I bet there was a tiny bit of air in the system and to remove the wheel, they had to retract the brake pads. Forcing the brake fluid backwards though the system pushed the air out and now the brakes work the way they are supposed to.
There are several things that cause the brake to be different. First is that the caliper and rotor were cleaned. Also, when the mechanic removed the caliper,he/she pushed the pistons on the caliper in to spread the break pads, pushing fluid up to the master cylinder. That pushed any air that was in the lines out, making the handle feel more firm.also, the new tir has a little to do with it,because you are getting better traction. Most mechanics will look at the brake pads while they have the tire off and replace them if they are worn, because they can charge the regular rate, but most of the labor is done. If your mechanic put it back together with new pads, you may need to wear them in a bit.
Nothing to do with the brakes themselves, it's just that the new tyre grips more than the old one. I notice the same thing everytime I get a new front tyre
