Surely kids enjoy being able to stay at home instead of going to school, how is it a punishment?
Public humiliation isn't an licensed punishment. it relatively is unlawful for a commander to authorize one in all these punishment and could be reason for him to be relieved of command if extreme adequate. approximately 2 weeks in the past, a unit at fortress Hood had a Soldier status at a highway corner preserving up an illustration as punishment. It became into announcing something approximately his infraction. I have been given a foul telephone call from HQ, III Corps, approximately it through fact they theory it became into one in all my instruments doing it (thankfully it became into no longer). i don't be responsive to what took place afterwards yet getting this variety of particular interest from a Corps CSM are no longer good information.
Like many punishments implemented by the school system, things like suspension, expulsion, parent conferences, etc. are not MEANT to to punish the student, they are meant to punish the parent in the hopes that the parent will punish the student in retaliation. Of course kids love to stay home from school but parents suddenly have an emergency on their hands and their job is threatened. Of course, when you do that, you are handing a great deal of power to the student against the parent, thereby undermining the parent and getting both the student and the parent to bow down to your higher school authority. And then they act all baffled as to why there is a lack of parental support for schools.
Usually because the parents will enact further punishment (grounding, loss of phone privileges). Also, it starts a record of behavior and after a certain number of suspensions, you could be sent to juvenile court, and/or expelled. Then the judge may order alternative schooling, such as at a juvenile detention facility. Better to not get suspended, certainly not more than once!
