Question:

Why is the paint flaking/peeling?

i am painting a few ceilings in an oldish building.there is no dampness or mould anywhere.its being a long time since it was painted and all the previous coats of paint that were on the ceilings have flaked off over time.i scrapped off what paint was left on the ceiling(which just came off in sheets practically)and gave it a coat of acrylic primer.it dried within in about an hour but it too has all flaked and peeled off.not all the ceilings but in big patches on some of them.im at a loss as to what to try nextany help would be greatly appreciated as this job is now costing me money!!:-(

Answer:

Wear safety equipment (goggles, gloves and apron). Use clean glassware. Double check required materials. Triple check the materials you are using. Know the reactivity of the materials being used and prepared. Have proper ventilation. Use a hood if necessary. Keep track of all preparation steps in a lab notebook.
I think you will regret it. I dont know how old you are now, but when you become a professional it is almost impossible to wear regular earrings. I think you are making a big mistake. Its your life and your ear, but what are you trying to accomplish by piercing your ears like that. Its just something that will make it harder for you to get jobs, and people are going to judge you with that. If you are doing it for attention, why do something unpermanent like make your hair blue. Good luck!
