Question:

Why the suv cars have higher prices than minivans even they have almost same engine!?

In the same brand such as toyota there is a minivan (sienna) and suv (highlander) which have the same engine (3.5 l) but the highlander has a higher price even the minivan sienna has bigger area and has bigger volume inside .Both of them have almost same specifications .Also same thing could be applied to other brand.

Answer:

all most all suv's are four wheel drive's and most van's are two wheel drive's.
SUVs cost more to build as they can carry more load and negotiate off road conditions. So the suspension systems are more robust in construction. Most have 4x4 systems requiring an additional gear case.
The suspension system, axels and tires are often more elaborate and stronger on Suv's, not to mention that most suvs are equipped with 4wd drive systems which can increase the price of a truck by the thousands. Try to go offroading in a minivan and you'll quickly see.
