need to test them for resistance? what could happen? thank you :)

Answer:

Have sex with me, and let me sleep over. The next morning at around 7 I will smack you in the back of the head and demand breakfast. No way you'll be able to sleep through my nagging.
do not look down the carburetor while your trying to crank the engine. It could backfire and shoot fuel, or worse, ignited fuel into your face. But if you want to risk it, wear safety goggles. This is what I would do. If you disconnect the line from the carburetor and crank the engine (catching the fuel in a jar) to check for fuel to the carburetor. Re-connect the fuel line and try cranking the engine over. With the engine NOT running. Look into the carburetor and open the throttle linkage by hand. Just before the throttle plate are wide open, the power piston should shoot extra gasoline into the venturis or throttle bores. If it is totally quiet, you should hear it and/or see it. If the fuel line screws into a fuel filter fitted to the carburetor base, the filter may be in backwards. Another thing you can do is crank the engine over with the throttle wide open. Do this for about 6 seconds, wait and crank the engine again with the accellerator all the way down. Now check you spark plugs to see if they're wet. If they are, replace your plugs with new ones and try starting the engine. If your plugs are dry, and there is no gas entering the throttle bores, you have a much more serious problem, indicating improper procedure of carburetor re-assembly. It could also be such a simple thing as putting a gasket in the wrong way, or using a wrong gasket on re-asembly.
