People claim partisan politics is bad now, but it's no worse in the past. Bush was a fiscal conservative more so then any other President, and a true patriot. He believed that we really need to deal with the deficit but also believe in tax cuts, Liberals refuse to do any cut and he saw how deparate our deficit was and had to fold on taxes and military cuts. He had to courage to rue what needs to be done despite immature and irrational beliefs from the left. it's sad that you would fault him for doing what he can to fix the problem, but then again that is why we have so much partisan politics. Liberal created their own monsters. No matter what the republicans do today, they won't compromise because of how liberals treated Bush. tha if they fold and compromise, the liberal would harrass and complain and drive good honest politicians out of their position.
