Question:

Will this work? Please help!?

Ok, well I want to put some color in my hair, it's already a dark brownI'm stuck between a bright red or a nice purple, maybe even a bright turquoiseBut my question is: If I dyed the red/purple/turquoise parts that I want, could I just wrap those spots up with aluminum and dye the rest black? Going to a pro is not much of an option, because I can't get the money:92; Plus, the only place around here did a not so well job on my bangsI paid for bright teal bangs, and they gave me a dull, barely could see the color kind of thing in my bangsIt wasn't even a tealMore like a dark greenSo yeah, I know I can do a better job with my streaks than them and make it show uphahaBut yeahWill a bright red or whatever show up in dark brown hair? Could I put aluminum on the color to keep it from being dyed with black? Will I need to bleach it (I have a kit.), and buy a toner? Please help me10 pts best answer :)

Answer:

you could do bright red or bright purple over your dark brown but it will be dullyes you would be better to bleach firstyes aluminium foil will helpheres how i think you should do it -bleach the parts you want coloured and wrap them in foil and wait for it to process-rinse it out and shampoo but dont condition!! -dry -put conditioner over the bleached parts and wrap them in foil -colour the rest of your hair but when you rinse it make sure you rinse as much dark colour out before you take the foil out so the dark doesnt stain the lightened parts-shampoo but dont condition! -dry and then put your bright colout in -shampoo and condition lol takes a little while but is sooo worth it!! hope this helps :):)
usually because they have been washed at too high a temperatureRead the label carefully and wash at the coldest setting possibleTumble drying is also a major culpritAgain, read the label to see if the item is ok to TD, then do at lowest temp possible - or rather dry over a clothes horse or washing line.
