I have a 200 Chevy Venture and my windshield wipers won‘t go back to their starting position when I stop them. any ideas
Did you buy this car new? - Or did this just occour lately? If used, and they have always been that way, somebody may have had the wiper arms off, and put them back in wrong position on wiper transmission splines! Another clue is if they seem to be going too far in the other direction (or maybe less)! This would not be a problem of blockage, or worn wiper drive gear, - or bad parking circuit!
yes two possibilities, either a stripped wiper arm of a weak wiper motor. do this test: keep the vehicle off and grab the drivers wiper arm, if you can EASILY move it across the window without the other moving you have a stripped wiper arm; if both move you have a bad wiper motor. the later is usually the problem (this is only a suggestion, you should still have someone do a 5v reference test to the motor and a ohms test to make sure it's bad. good luck!!!
Park part of the wiper power supply is not working. Checking all the fuses first then see if one wire at the wiper motor plug stays hot all the time. If there is power to one of the four or five wires the wiper motor has failed. I know you have to turn upside down and lay on the engine cover but the wiper motor is deep in there. And you want to talk about changing? Call and check at your dealer close to you there might be some kind of service part or recall for that problem.
