I went to start my car tonight and there was some moisture on my window, so I turned on my wipers. They were working fine last night. When I turned them on today the driver‘s side one didn‘t move at all, and the passenger one went up and down twice then stopped sticking straight up. When I got home I put it down and tried again. I can hear the wiper motor going when I turn them on but they don‘t move. They feel loose if I try to move them manually. What could be wrong and is it expensive to fix?
sounds like the wiper transmission is broken, have it replaced and you should be ok.
I think you'll find that the driving gear in the motor housing is broke. It is common for this plastic gear to strip teeth. It's simple to change and won't cost much.
there should be a nut on the bottom of the wiper arms probably under a cap, loosen them up pop aff the wiper arms put them on where they belong and put them back on tighten nuts you should be okif not remove the cowl panel and see if the wiper linkage is broke
