Hi, I drive a 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix.My windshield wipers work fine with no problems until I turn them off. When I turn them off, they go down like they used to to turn off and then pop back up and stay in a vertical position. I have read around and many places suggest it is a motor problem but I don‘t see how that would make sense when they operate just fine.Any suggestions or answers would be must appreciated. Thanks.
There is a switch in the motor called a park switch. That's the problem. Replacement is the answer.
Very, very common issue. Go to the Pontiac dealer and the clerk will reach down below his counter and hand you a replacement wiper park switch as he likely has a few in stock. Poor quality switch that fails often I'm sorry to say.
