Don't just replace one battery. Replace them all. Press the test button on each unit as well.
2go down to where it says enable/disable lan. This is what your looking for. Make sure the box that says, allows this device to save power is unchecked. Now once you've done this. lock your computer, and go to the kids computer make sure you can still access a network share.
