Question:

would a black light help with a jaundice baby?

I'm not sure if a black light is a UV light

Answer:

No. A black light is not what you need. You just need normal sunlight. Taking your baby outside for a little while (not too long in the direct sun) or just sitting in in a bassinet by the window works. My son was born in the winter so I did the bassinet by the window and it worked wonders!
I was told to put my son in front of a window for a few minutes every day. A black light will do nothing. He needs sunlight.
Like the two above me said, natural sunlight is best.
No, a black light is very different than a UV light. UV lights give off UV rays which help break down biliruben. You're better off just exposing your child to natural sunlight than black lights.
