Question:

Would a needed oil change cause the check engine light to go off?

The truck is used and the sticker says that the next oil change needed to be around 9300 and it is currently at 9700. Is this a possible cause for the light to come on?

Answer:

Yes it is. It's possible the dealer or owner you've got it from before changed the oil, but forgot to change the sticker, Check your dipstick and if the oil is really dirty, change it and sometimes on certain cars, the maintenance light has to be reset. Because if you lose even a micro of oil the CEL goes off. Hope this helps. Edit: also be sure to take it to your nearest mechanic. It's possible there may be something else also causing it to go off.
Alzheimer's Disease Some authorities feel that aluminum is not the primary agent responsible for Alzheimer's disease. However, significantly increased levels of aluminum were noted at autopsies in patients suffering from Alzheimer's disease. A difficulty with this research is that the aluminum is not evenly distributed in the brain.
Copper transfers heat better.
I have a 2006 Toyota Sienna and it has a light that says maintenance required soon and that means change the oil. It comes on every 5000 miles and the owners manual tells how to reset it. Check your manual, it has a lot of good info in it
Depending on the make and model of the truck, it may have an oil life monitoring system. If so, there will be a service engine soon (or maintenance required) light come on, which must be reset when the oil is changed. If it is the actual Check Engine light (also known as a MIL - Malfunction Indicator Lamp) then the answer is NO. The check engine light means that something is malfunctioning which will cause your vehicle to fail the emissions test (if you live in an area that tests). You can take it to a auto parts chain store (Autozone, Advanced, etc.) and they will read the code for free and tell you what it means.
