Question:

Would anyone know how much tire balancing costs at Firestone tires?

I had just recently caused my driver side front tire go out of balance. I know it‘s out of balance because it‘s a bit of a bumpy ride and the steering wheel shakes when i go fifty and over. Would anyone know how much tire balancing costs at Firestone tires? I have a $20 coupon so it must cost at leat $25 dollars.

Answer:

Yes, it is. Vermiculite is heat expanded mica. Perfectly safe.
For the best answers, search on this site shorturl.im/axsX8 when you say balanced, do you mean aligned? When you balance the tire, you balance it on the rim, not the car. When you change tires, a lot of people want to re-align the car so that all tires are properly aligned so that they wear evenly. You don't always have to have this done when you have your tires rotated, only when the tires are not properly aligned, which they usually will tell you if they are not. It does cost anywhere from 40-80 bucks (depending upon where you go) to have the car properly aligned. And it is a seperate charge, they don't just do it.
If a tire shop recently put that tire on, go have them do it for free. Tires come with a spin balance as part of the cost. If not, it should be about $15 per tire at any shop. Going out of balance is a matter of losing the lead spin weight attached where the tire meets the rim of the wheel. The fastest and surest way to tell if it is a balance problem on the front tire (assuming you have good tires) is to drive about 15mph and then drop the steering wheel briefly. If balance is a problem, you should see the steering wheel wobble. If the spin is not a quick fix, you may be looking at an alignment.
