the Civil Rights protesters? Let's stop and look at this OBJECTIVELY. Remove whatever opinions you may have on the context of each situation. The FACTS are that BOTH situations involved passive civil protest. BOTH groups had law enforcement called in, were told to disperse or face consequences, and refused. As a result, they suffered those consequences so did MLK and the gang deserve their punishment? After all, they didn't listen. Just like the UC Davis students.
They are hard to open but need to reed on it to open and change the batteries.
Check your battery. It has gone bad. I have the same type of smoke detector and it is house powered but uses a battery in case of a power outage.
In an at will state, you can get fired for anything. If not an at will state, they could argue that you might not have enough time, energy, etc to do the two jobs. Or if you are a manager, they could say you could give trade secrets. So, most likely they could fire you. If they did and you dont' think they should have, no one would take the case anyway because there wouldn't be enough money in it. So, you have no case.
They still have a backup battery. They would be worthless if the power went out wouldn't they? But trust me they all have batteries in them. Just try to take the thing apart as much as possible. And if it wasn't connected to begin with how could it be chirping? haha. Good luck. Maybe look up the model number online of that detector.
Oh this happened to me. Okay what you need to do is simply remove the smoke detector from the wall and disable it for a day or two. After that, place it back on the wall and if it keeps chirping, just take it off of the wall entirely. It should still go off if there's a fire though.
