because they have metal vocals, insturments, and call them selves metal. trust me hear im a metal head they have many qualifications to be called metal.....bullet for my valentine seems to have som lightere metal but as i lay dying is even played on hard attack the heavey metal channel for sirius sttelite radio
Because they are stupid and don't know what they are talking about. I've heard worse though, someone once told me Korn was Death Metal and Marilyn Manson was Black Metal.
Probably because they're metalcore.. some people don't always know the difference but lol at death metal, that's just dumb
Because they are metal for christ's sake. I mean really what the f*ck is up with people and their narrow definition of metal. If it isn't old school stuff or Scandanavian Black Metal crap or something it's poser metal. Seriously my copy of Master Of Puppets is 21 years old (still plays too), but I guess I'm a poser then because I like bands like AILD and Killswitch Engage and the ultimate sin for metalheads Slipknot. Seriously if I'm a poser because I like that stuff then kiss my a*s. BTW about 20 yrs ago someone told me a band wasn't worth checking out, I ignored him and bought it anyway, found out he was wrong, and to this day still like Voivod.
People consider As I Lay Dying and Bullet For My Valentine and all those other horrible nu metal,and emo bands that claim to be so called metal because they believe everything they see on MTV, and think their definition of metal lyrically is oh my girlfriend dumped me or whining and slitting my wrists. I'm sick of it as well as these poser metal bands like.. 1)Slipknot 2)As I Lay Dying 3)All That Remains 4)Hawthorne Heights (yes people have told me these are death metal but aren't) 5)My Chemical Romance (not metal but their myspace claims it to be metal some mainstream metal websites do to) *Basically anything that claims to be metal and is mainstream isn't true metal These guys are really twisting the truth of the metal message and even death metal its not supposed to be talking about like I said my girlfriend dumped me personally I take the message as genocide of the human race and kill and destroy everyone either that or I'm just a misanthropist. All those bands are a joke, and are the far from metal. Whats even worse these posers think they are the top s*it just for listening to so called Death metal bands like... Slipknot and think Marilyn Madson is black metal (which both aren't) its just a joke.... *Look at a band called Otep and their song Blood Pigs on youtube they are a horrible example of Death Metal that most people believe they are but they are just poser nu metal and their lyrics are just about whining about why their gf or bf dumping them
