I have a 2005 Yukon XL Denali that after about 10 seconds after ignition a medium volume noise starts up and continues for 5-8 seconds then turns off. I know that this is the Air Suspension System pumping up but is this noise normal? Should the sound of the pumps be audible at all? If so, should they be loud enough to hear if you were 10 or 15 feet away and be very noticeable?
What I did whilst this occurred to me: I went to the broker. They charged the equipment with freon. It worked completely after that. Sorry thats quite short yet that would likely be the case yet there must be quite a few different problems with the AC equipment.

My 04 Denali XL has the same pump noise from day one. It is pretty loud and yes you can hear it from a good 10-15 feet away. If it happens EVERY time you start up then there might be a leak in the system. On my slanted driveway (Front on the uphill side everynight) my truck does NOT engage the auto-level system every day.
