I am Corgi / Gas Safe certified in the UK but I am looking to move to the United States. Will my certification transfer, or at least partially transfer? Or do I have to go through 2 years of trade school again?
Boiler Certification in The United States is handled through each State and the rules on the reciprocity of your U.K. License could vary from State to State. If you have an idea of what State you will be moving to, you may want to contact that State and find out if they will honor your past experiences/ Licenses and what steps you will have to take to transfer your credentials.
She should write to the repairer setting out why she's not satisfied with the job or the price. She should make an offer (say ?100) if he's done any work of use to her and say that's an offer in full and final settlement. If he hasn't done anything useful, she should refuse to pay anything. If he's not satisfied with that he can sue her, but she reserves the right to get the boiler repaired elsewhere and counterclaim for the cost.
