Answer:

Make yourself a potato stamp by slicing a potato in half and carving a design into the facesChoose a nice paper and dip the stamp in paintsIf you are crafty, you could probably do multi-color patterns (paint windows on a house stamp, etc.) Just had another cool idea with thatHow about White glue instead of paint and then decorate with glitter? Have fun! Oh, more thoughts, go Nick Bantock on the paper and stick ribbons and other found objects onto it and see what you get.
This is the recipe I use (modified from an old Better Homes Gardens recipe): - 2 layers of pie crust - 6 cups baking apples (I use Granny Smith), peeled thinly sliced - 1 tbsplemon juice - 3/4 cup sugar - 2 tbspflour - 1/2 tspground cinnamon - 1/8 tspfresh ground nutmeg - pinch of pumpkin pie spice coriander (optional) - 1/3 cup golden raisins or other dried berries (optional) Line a 9 pie plate with half of the pastrySprinkle apples with lemon juiceCombine sugar, flour, spices in large bowlAdd apple slices and dried berries (if using)Toss gently to coatTransfer apple mixture to pastry-lined pie plateTrim bottom pastry to fit the edge of the pan, and place other crust over mixturePinch edges to seal and cut slits in the top crust Cover edges of crust with aluminum foilBake at 375 degrees F for 40 minutes; remove foil and bake another 15-20 minutes or until filling is bubbly(If desired, brush pastry top with milk and sprinkle with sugar cinnamon before baking.) Sometimes, I like to make an apple crumb pie: combine about 1/4 cflour and 1/4 csugar (brown or white) and cut in a few tablespoons of butter until you have coarse crumbsSprinkle over apple mixture instead of using the top layer of crustBake 60 minutes at 375 degrees F.
