I just got a 1983 cj7 and it needs ALOT of work, my biggest problem right now is the wiring. i am having issues with the wiring. whoever did it before had no pride whats so ever so i am thinking i need a whole new harness. i have been looking online and the complete harness goes for $500+. i was wondering if anyone here has found a good cheaper harness?
Beware of cheap electrical items for Jeeps! Buy a wiring harness from a reputable parts supplier and install it once ins ted of a Great deal that you will have to replace multiple times over the next several years. All Jeeps have electrical issues that were made before 1992. I own eight different pre 1984 Jeeps and everyone of them has some sort of electrical problem. My favorite of all of my Jeep models is my 1981 SJ Wagoneer Custom. The darn thing keeps blowing the fuse for the back up lights and Neutral Safety switch. Have had an electrician go through it twice and he keeps scratching his head why. If you are new to Jeeps, get used to electrical problems. Jeep is an acronym or Just Empty Every Pocket I do not want to ever get rid of any of my Jeeps.
