Question:

1998 - 2002 Honda V6 Transmission?

Has anyone been successful in building the 98 - 02 Accord V^ transmissions. I can easily rebuild the 4 cyl‘s but am skeptical about the v6 trannys.

Answer:

I didn't get ceramic braces because I was told they are more painful and more difficult to remove. I'd be more concerned with that if I were you, because even though after they were off they didn't hurt, it was more painful than having a tooth removed getting them taken off. Totally worth it though, my teeth look amazing :)
honda actually has a reman program for those transmissions because they extended the warranty on them to 7 years and 9 months or 109,000 miles whichever comes first in the U.S. The reman transmissions can be purchased from Honda if necessary on an exchange basis. I don't know of anyone who has been successful in rebuilding them. In fact, the early factory reman transmissions still had problems so even Honda couldn't get the rebuild right the first time around. Now they have it down to a science but, like any science if you haven't got the benefit of their experience you'll just be experimenting . I'd really recommend going with the factory rebuild if you can as there is a reason (actually 3 separate reasons) why the warranty on those transmissions was extended. hope that helps
I am a Honda Accord V6 owner myself, Honda would not even give me a good will replacement and I fought with them for months. I ended up getting the transmission with a complete re haul. All my sensors were changed, something about a converter were changed and the clutches were repaired. Everything that was connected to the transmission failed tooprior to fixing it. Now I got my Honda back and it really drives amazingI was told buy the mechanic to bring it in after a few days to see how it is doing and to reset anything if needed. He also gave me a 2 year guarantee on the work and parts He said i should have no problems at all When he showed me the clutches that went bad I asked him what could it be that caused all thishe said regular wear and tearfor the clutches. My car is a 2001 V6 with 128 thousand miles and the transmission went bad at 123000I drove it the whole time with it bad I also had my front and back mount replaced. I have never spent so much money on repairing a Honda, thinking that I would never have to that is why I bought the dam car
