Question:

2001 Ford Escape: oil light and engine coolant light?

Okay, so I have this light that has been lit up for a while now and I looked it up in my car‘s manual book, and it said it was the engine coolant light. What is that-antifreeze??? Also, for some reason, my oil light keeps flashing, and then it will go off for a while, and then start flashing again. I just had my oil checked last week! What could it be? And where can I go to get these 2 things checked out?

Answer:

If there's something wrong with your engine cooling system, your heat gauge would rise fast and keep getting hotter. For the light, I would go to a mechanic or even an auto parts store and ask them to plug your car into a computer. They will be able to tell you what is causing the light to come on.
if you want to look for your self check the radiator, hoses, belts, the over flow look at the color of anti freeze is it green or orange should see it thru the over flow never open a rad while it is hot anti freeze will shoot out and burn you look for leaks dry rot on the rubber keep an eye on the oil always check it car off after sit in 15 minutes on flt surface
