Question:

930 Engine about to be installed?

I am installing a 1986 930 engine in a 911SC.No broken head studsvalves have been adjusted, and a gasket and hose re-do prep is being done so the engine will be serviceable for some time.Any last minute things I should do before installing the engine, for a performance bump, etc? Thanks!!

Answer:

that's totally bizarre, im sorry for your loss. i have a feeling its something in the soil that's conducting electricity more. have you taken a metal detector out there? i think they're expensive, but i also think you can rent them. that way you can see if it really is a coincidence or if there's metal in the soil. were any of these horses by any chance wearing a halter? that has metal in it. i wouldn't say its common, but i also wouldn't say its uncommon. i have a friend who had a horse die from a lightning strike at her barn. horses are just outside more, they can't always avoid the lightning. i think the numbers though at your farm are uncommon though, which is why i think metal may be the culprit.
Is it just one CD or all of them. That one CD maybe scratched, damaged or the files may not be recognized by the unit.
Put a small jack under the tie rod end, and force the stud up into the control arm, It will tighten. Then get the toe-in set.
