just wonder if anyone can give me a wee bit info, sitting tonight and i heard a pop then water went in kitchen n water absolutely pouring through ceiling ran up stairs and it was a push fit connection that had popped apart its onto a copper pipe, hot water, so couldn't get it pushed back in eventually got mains off seems to have just popped no reason why! its been sitting with no problems for nearly 3 years any ideas why this has happened now thanks in advance

In addition to using the lid, another pan, or a damp towel, you can use salt (use the big, round container, not a salt shaker) or baking soda to smother a grease fire. Of course, it's always best to have a fire extinguisher handy in the kitchen. I keep mine under the sink, right next to the stove.
They don't. Smoke Detectors detect smoke and then sound a piercing alarm to alert people to the smoke.
