Question:

A sheet of aluminum foil has a total area of 1.000ft^2 and a mass of 3.606gWhat is the thickness of the foil?

A sheet of aluminum foil has a total area of 1.000ft^2 and a mass of 3.606gWhat is the thickness of the foil in millimeters? (density of aluminum is 2.699g/cm^3)I have tried this problem so many times and i keep getting the wrong answerI find the volume by dividing the mass and density to get 1.336cm^3 and then since VLWH i know the area is 1.000ft^2 i convert that to mm^2 and solve for the thickness but i must be doing something wrong.please help!!

Answer:

i only remember 63 65 and 6763-just look to see which 2 are in the same column and closest 2 eachother 65-alast column 5th 1 down b2nd column 6th downc3rd column 3rd down 67- aluminum because it is a metal and iodine is nonmetal and metals conduct electricity
By m V x d V m/d (3.606)/(2.699) 1.34 cm^3 OR 1.34 x 10^-6 m^3 Now by V A x h 1.34 x 10^-6 (9.29 x 10^-2) x h {as1 square foot 0.09290304 square meter} h 1.44 x 10^-5 m OR (1.44/100) mm h 0.0144 mm
Alright, well I'm in chemistry too, but I can only answer the first few questionsone word: Diffusion!
