Acer LCD Monitor Problems?

I got my Acer LCD flatscreen monitor on June 1, 2007 (about 2 months ago), and tonight, it simply decided to stop working. It won't turn on, but when I unplug it from my computer, I still hear the bing-bong sound it makes when something is unplugged. I have honestly never been more angry. This was a $200+ monitor that didn't even last the summer, so now I'm stuck using this crappy 7-year-old monitor. Does anyone know what might be wrong with it? Has anyone else had this problem?

Hopefully there's still some warranty on it. Capacitors could have been bad from the capacitor manufacturer, who supplied them to the LCD maker. Power supply/converter could have gone bad inside the monitor.
There's no point trying to get it to work. It is highly possible a hardware issue. Whether something is short circuited or fried inside. It's barely 2 months old. You are covered under warranty. Pick that phone up and start ringing Acer.
I know a recent Windows update for Vista to the intel graphics chipset a lot of Acers use has been having problems. The other commonly reported problems are with the Orbicam a lot of Acers have installed, and the sound card drivers. I'm typing this on an Acer I had to reinstall the OS on, and I think I can guess how frustrated you are (I gave up on the OS completely one day when it suddenly decided my store-bought copy of windows wasn't valid, and installed slackware on it, although I've since gone back to a dual-boot with vista). It's good you have a working monitor, at least. The best thing you can do is pull up any upc, part, or other numbers you can find on your monitor, and yahoo or google those plus driver download. Don't put up with any forms or junk, and if anyone makes you sign up before you download, make up a fake name and use the e-mail address in my source line. What you're looking for is a driver for your monitor. Once you get the manufacturer's driver, go to your system control panel, then go to device manager, find your new monitor in the list, right-click it, go to properties, and finally, click uninstall driver. Then, load up the manufacturer's driver installation and follow the instructions. You can use the e-mail address I gave you if you have any questions, but just be warned it self-destructs once I get ten replies.
