I am a completely new to car modification and things in this nature.please excuse the poor vocabulary and technical details.I have a 2010 Acura TSX. The engine has a tube which sucks up air from the resonator and goes into the engine. Well, today I removed the resonator, allowing the engine to suck up air easier and have a louder engine roar.Anyways I was thinking about getting a CAI, but my research is claiming that a CAI consists only of some tubes and a filter. My car already has those tubes and a filter. Wouldn‘t just changing the filter to a high performance or better filter essentially be a CAI?
Sounds like a bunch of b.s. to me. That's why my Mustang is a '65 with a 289 and Holley 4-barrel.
just ignore that light the dignosis man told you something that you dont understand and i dont either if you pay for what he is saying the light will come on again and then what usually the light will go off mine has been going on and off for five years the car runs ok so forget it.
do you have a code number
No a cold air intake replaces all of the tubing with larger tubing that has smooth surfaces inside it is either made of plastic or metal depending on brand Changing the filter does help some but you get complete performance by replacing the intake tubing as well.
a CAI is designed to cool or condense air before going into the intake manifold. yes every car comes withe tubes and an air filter but a CAI uses a different air filter shaped like a cone that is less restrictive making it have more airflow make shure you put a heat shield around it to block the hot engine air from entering if you do get one
