I'm looking for a new Alternative Metal/Hard Rock band. Some of the bands I like:Breaking BenjaminFlyleafLinkin Park30 Seconds To MarsCrossfadeDark New DaySeetherCreedHalestormThe Letter BlackPapa RoachParamoreSleeping With SirensThree Days GraceNickelBackRed
I like some Glam metal. I think the current generation doesn't seem to hate Hair metal with a passion, they/we seem to respect it as classic stuff So I kind of wonder if one day my future kids will respect the Asking Alexandrias and whatnot of today as classics, even though right now metal elitists are like ZOMG THAT SIHT SUX!!!
Even though I am a thrash metal fan, I do like some glam metal. Some glam metal bands such as W.A.S.P., Twisted Sister or Quiet Riot are really good metal bands and I don't see any reason at all for hating them. However, it's the later glam metal bands that were horrible. Bands like Poison, Cinderella or Motley Crue just look really stupid and feminine, and I don't mean tongue-in-cheek feminine like Dee Snider, but just really stupid with all the big hair and make up. Their music was also very simplified with constant lyrics about love, sex and partying. Early glam is ok, while the later one is bad.
I enjoy every sub-genre of Metal. Black Metal, Prog Metal, Tech Death, Thrash Metal, Power Metal, Folk Metal, Metalcore, you name it. I enjoy Hair Metal. My favorite Hair Metal bands include, but are not limited to, Guns N Roses, Mr. Big, Quiet Riot, Twisted Sister, Motley Crue, Ratt, Skid Row, Europe, and old Def Leppard. I think the main reason that most metalheads dislike Hair Metal is because it's a lot less heavy than other Metal and gets more attention than it deserves. I can't say I disagree, but personally I enjoy Hair Metal because it's catchy, upbeat, and requires talent to play (listen to Mr. Big if you don't believe me. You can't deny that Mr. Big is awesome).
